the unseen flame

Tar tears don't run down my cheeks.  They smear like slept in eye makeup.  Methane an invisible flame could combust the dry grass.  The smoke would be visible miles away.   Sending gun men to contain a fire, an unseen fire.

fortunetly

The sun and clouds made the hills look interesting.  Not just part of the water cycle. Depth and dimension. Light and dark.  Others have seen these views.  Beyond the hills known as the Three Sisters.  Is a carved rock called the Mazestone.  Chiseled stone?  People who hadn't left the stone age living in stick huts hunting with branches weaving baskets.

as for a lost soul

crepuscular light
light rays are straight
 water is curly
shadow cast in a well
light has no shadow
beams dreams wonderful things
ice is a fleeting version
freezing is buoyant,
and spinning.

Prussian blue

If I could make you wear something it would be Prussian blue. Twilight sky as the sunlight dims. Structural drawing plotting the design. Ocean wave you can't see through. Blue and white tea cup, fragile and thin, no time to waste or the heat is gone. Use blue or black ink remember the bruise. Happiness the bluest bird.

The spring up the road

Fish tickle the water in the pond. The water laughs. The birds don't notice the water is happy. "It's okay" the water told me. "I just wanted you to know."

Off limits, out of bounds, no man's land

This was an area beyond where the tour guide took us.  Some places are not established for visitors. Interesting how we all liked this area the best. Not just the area within the garden, also the area beyond the fence.  We were able to see out from the safety of the garden.  An area equal in beauty as the finely crafted sitting area where we stood.  The trees cut back to keep them small to not spoil the view.  The wild area that maintained it's own allure without constant human pampering.  The evidence was powerful, the law of nature has consequences.   Balance is maintained.

rise and fall strange

While driving home once East, once South. I saw eyes looking right through me. Walking in the opposite direction. I saw flying toward me the same penetrating gaze, on a different day. The same eyes on a bird of prey. Dog lay dead by the side of the road. Heart dripped blood on the phone pole. The power went out I kept the candle close to see. I heard him singing while working atop the power pole. The air carried his voice well. I walked each day no destination planned. I found my way, or it found me. When I looked toward the train tracks I saw those eyes look back at me. Wherever that time went I'm sure it's still there waiting for the chance to resolve all that could still be.
